Privacy
Short version: no ads, no analytics, no third-party cookies, nothing loaded from Google, Meta or anywhere else (even the map is served by the site). We only keep what you give us, and you can delete it yourself.

Without an account
You can browse the whole site without giving us anything. The contact form keeps your name, email and message to reply to you, and nothing else. The map's “Near me” button uses your location in your browser only: it is never sent to us.
Member account
- What we keep: your display name and email (to sign in and notify you), what you add to your profile (photo, about, town, interests, languages, contact details), your friendships, the events you post or say you're going to, your invitations, notifications and reports.
- Who sees what: your profile is visible to signed-in members (or everyone if you choose); your contact details only to your friends by default; your email is never shown. Events you post are public, with your name or the organisation you give.
- Emails: address confirmation, forgotten password and, if you keep it on in your settings, invitations and changes to events you're going to. Never advertising.
- Purpose and legal basis: running the calendar and community (performance of the service you ask for by creating an account).
- Retention: as long as your account exists. You can delete it at any time from your settings; everything is then erased, except the events you posted, which stay online without your name.
- Moderation: the team can read reports, hide an event or deactivate an account that breaks the rules.
Social networks
The team may share a published event on Nice-Event's Instagram, Facebook, X and Bluesky accounts, with a picture made from its photo. Only the event's information is shared, never your account's. The site's share buttons are plain links: nothing is loaded from these networks until you click.
External events
Some events come from public calendars (tourist offices, clubs…); they contain no personal data and link to their original page.
Security and retention
The site is hosted in France (OVH, Roubaix). The IP address of failed login attempts is kept for 7 days to block attacks. Contact messages are kept while we handle your request, and for 24 months at most. Database backups are kept for 30 days.
Cookies
No analytics, advertising or social media cookies, hence no cookie banner. The only cookies are technical ones, exempt from consent: the form security token and the session of signed-in members. Your light or dark theme choice stays in your browser.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may access, correct or erase your data, object to its processing or ask for a copy by writing to contact@nice-event.fr. We answer within one month.
You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL): cnil.fr/fr/plaintes.
